Drake disclosed that the current job market is highly dynamic and competitive and challenged students to spend more time working on projects that will make them outshine their competitors.
“You are sitting on opportunities. I implore you to make time for this event, come and brainstorm with your peers and generate innovative ideas that can be solutions to challenges in society”, he noted.
According to Dr. Mirembe, the Innovation Saturday has seen many students develop innovations in form of mobile applications with huge potential of solving existing problems. Some of the Innovations include: My Hosp Link, a health app, Ntwalako, a Traffic Congestion Solution app, PoultrApp, one that helps poultry farmers to track their birds and many others.
Innovation Saturday is a weekly program that brings together young innovators or entrepreneurs to be resourced/mentored by experts in business/computing/academia in the hope of sharpening innovators through the institution.
Events will be run and organized by the Guild Leadership with support from UTAMU Administration.
