Functions of DAA

The primary functions of DAA include: coordination of teaching and learning activities and management of student records. Under coordination of teaching and learning activities, the Directorate is charged with;
  • Preparation and management of the University Calendar (Almanac)
  • Ensuring that all necessary preparations for effective teaching and learning are in place such as projectors, white boards, online content, teaching and exam time table;
  • Monitoring and evaluation of teaching and learning in collaboration with the Quality Assurance Department
  • Keeping management updated on best practices and areas that need improvement in teaching and learning
  • Initiation and coordination of innovative support services to facilitate students learning and development.
Under management of student records, the Directorate is charged with;
  • Assisting the Deputy Vice Chancellor in overseeing the coordination, administration and organisation of all academic matters in the schools including admission, undergraduate studies, postgraduate studies and examinations
  • Preparation of teaching and examination time table
  • Collection, processing and storage of student records
  • Serving as the Secretariat to the University Senate
