Bachelor of Information Systems and Technology

The Bachelor of Information Systems & Technology programme seeks to develop high quality human resources for the public and private sectors so as to maximize the utility of ICTs in organizations. It equips students with skills in leveraging ICT to improve organisations’ planning and managing IT systems and networks, designing, implementing and troubleshooting ICT based systems. Career options to graduates include; ICT Managers, Cloud Based Systems Managers, Web Application Developers, Network Administrators, Website and Graphic Designers and other IT careers. This course has two options under which students can major depending on their interests.

The Information systems option will allow students to major in aspects of system development and analysis. The Information Technology option will allow students to major in aspects of technology development and integration. Entry options include; UACE, relevant diploma and Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) Certificate from a recognized institution with at least one principal pass and two subsidiary passes at the same sitting in UACE. Details about the admission requirements under each option are given in the appendix attached.

At least 2nd Class (Lower division) diploma in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, Statistics or related field from any recognized institution.

CCNA
  1. CCNA Certificate from a recognized institution.
  2. At least one principal pass and two subsidiary passes at the same sitting in UACE
  3. At least one subsidiary pass in Mathematics in UACE
