Prof. Joseph M. Kizza

Dr. Joseph M. Kizza is a Professor and Head of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga (UTC). He is also the Director of UTC InfoSec Center and Program, a National Center of Excellence in Information Assurance Education. He is the Editor-in-Chief of the International Journal of Computing and ICT Research (IJCIR).

He is an internationally known speaker on social computing and information security and assurance. He has published extensively in journals and conference proceedings including the following books:

Kizza was selected the Best Engineering and Computer Science Researcher, UTC, 2006, Outstanding Computer Science Teaching Award, UTC, 2005. He has also won international awards including the Outstanding Scholarly Contribution Award - from the International Institute for Advanced Studies in Systems Research and Cybernetics (IIAS),  given for outstanding scholarly research and educational work and for providing an exemplary contribution to the integration of engineering and social issues- 2004.

He has been Senior Fulbright Scholar Award to Indonesia, 2006andFulbright Scholar 2003-2004 Mbarara University of Science and Technology, Uganda.

Kizza is a member of ACM and IEEE and a UNESCO expert in Information Technology.
