Diploma in Computing

The Diploma in Computer Science aims at producing high quality graduates that will be used to manage, maintain, trouble shoot, upgrade and tune computer systems. They are also to have managerial and communication skills as well as have knowledge on operation of organisations.

Career Options

The objectives of the program are to produce graduates with

  • Technical skills to set up and manage networked infrastructures
  • Skills to manage Software Systems as well as other computational resources in organisations
  • Skills to maintain and troubleshoot hardware and software

Graduates of the program can be employed as;

  • Network Administrators

  • Web administrators/developers

The graduates can also exploit their entrepreneurial skills to develop ICT solutions

(Hardware/software) that can be used in the day today running of the organisations.

Learning outcomes

By the end of the program, the students shall be able to:

  • Develop and manage websites and web content
  • Maintain and repair common computer hardware and peripherals
  • Set up and administer computer networks
  • Develop basic software’s

Admission Requirements

Direct Entry

  • At least one principal pass and two subsidiary passes in UACE or its equivalent.
  • At least 5 passes in UCE or its equivalent

Certificate entry

  1. At least a Credit Certificate from a recognized institution (Equivalent to UACE)
  2. At least 3 passes in UCE or its equivalent
