PHOTOS: UTAMU Staff Preps for Third Graduation

Uganda Technology and Management University (UTAMU) staff is preparing for its third graduation scheduled for Friday, 29th September 2017 at Silver Springs Hotel in Kampala.

More than 260 students are expected to graduate with Masters Degrees, Post-graduate Diplomas, Bachelor’s degrees and Undergraduate diplomas in various disciplines.

The Graduation Ceremony will be presided over by the former Vice President of Kenya, H.E. Hon. Dr. Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka. Kalonzo who is the University Chancellor.

In only five years of operation, UTAMU is already at a level of competing favorably with older universities. UTAMU has grown from five (5) academic programmes to 42 programmes at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

The number of students has grown tremendously as well as the staff numbers both academic and administrative staff. The university has over 1800 students at various levels. With the last graduation held on 30th September 2016, UTAMU now has a good and quality team of more than 270 alumni raising the UTAMU flag in the field.

In Pictures: Uganda Prisons Band Entertains Graduands

The Uganda Prsions Band did a great job entertaining the graduands, their parents and invited guest at the recent third UTAMU Graduation Ceremony of Uganda Technology and Management University.

The ceremony was held on 29th September 2017 at Sliver Springs Hotel in Bugolobi, Kampala.

Up to 284 students graduated with Masters Degrees, Post-graduate Diplomas, Bachelor’s degrees and Undergraduate Diplomas.

The band led the East Africa, Uganda, Buganda and UTAMU anthems at the opening and closing of the ceremony.

Ghetto Kids to Perform At Grammy Awards

Ugandan Triplets Ghetto Kids dancers are due to get back to the US for a performance which could be even bigger than the BET.

They are booked to perform at the Grammy Awards slated for January next year and they will again perform alongside French Montana who at this rate you could say has transformed their lives.

According to their manager Dauda Kavuma, they had to come back to rest and prepare for the big event.

“We are back to rest and sort out a few issues before we head back to America to perform at the Grammys,” he said.

“It’s rare to meet people like French Montana. He has a good heart which is so uncommon with people. Working with him has opened so many doors for us,” Kavuma said.

PHOTOS: Installation of RUTAMU President

The Rotaract Club of Uganda Technology and Management University (RUTAMU) together with the Rotary Club of Kampala Day - Break held its second joint president installation ceremony on 22nd June 2017 at Grand Imperial Hotel in Kampala.

Ms. Sarah Owembabazi was installed as the 2017/18 President of the Rotaract Club of UTAMU, taking over from Rct. Arban Omwomugisha. 

Owembabazi promised the best in her regime as the president and encourages UTAMU students especially undergraduates to join the club.

Owembabazi revealed that this year; RUTAMU will embark on the first phase of our Early Childhood Development (ECD) project, will run a disease campaign in December, spearhead an institutional based club debate competition among all institutional based clubs in Uganda and also undertake joint projects with other Rotaract clubs.
