On November 8, 2024, Mayanja Abdul Hakim was declared the winner of the Uganda Technology and Management University (UTAMU) Guild Presidential elections.
A popular figure on amongst our online students, Mayanja garnered significant support from students who resonated with his promises of improved facilities, stronger academic representation, and expanded extracurricular activities.
Mayanja’s victory marks a turning point as he emphasizes inclusivity and transparency in student governance. In a victory statement written by his campaign manager Behangana Keneth, he promised their win would be a turning point in UTAMU’s Guild Governance, and their regime would be hailed for inclusive listening as well as attacking our challenges head on.
