Dr. Mutya Tomasi

Dr. Mutya Tomasi, PhD, is an accomplished academic researcher and higher education professional with over thirteen years of progressive experience in university teaching, research, quality assurance, and academic leadership. He has served in various capacities at institutions including Universal Technology and Management University, Cavendish University Uganda, Uganda Christian University, and Kumi University, as well as other institutions within Uganda and internationally.
Throughout his career, Dr Mutya has held positions such as Quality Assurance Officer, Senior Lecturer, Lecturer, Assistant Lecturer, Teaching Assistant, Accountant, Community Volunteer, and Intern. His expertise spans teaching and learning, curriculum design and development, academic research and publication, quality assurance, and community engagement. He has also provided academic leadership as Dean, Head of Department, Chairperson of Research, Senate Member, and coordinator of various institutional initiatives.
Dr Mutya is recognised for his collaborative leadership, effective classroom management, and integration of both traditional and digital technologies in teaching and learning. He has served as a Trainer under the Appropriate Technology-Based Entrepreneurship Training (ATET) Project of the UNESCO-UNITWIN programme, coordinated by Handong Global University, South Korea.
As an active scholar, Dr Mutya has published research in reputable, high-impact journals indexed in Scopus. He also serves as a peer reviewer for several respected academic journals, including the International Journal of Business Science and Applied Management, the Uganda Journal of Management and Public Policy Studies of the Uganda Management Institute, and the African Journal of Business and Economic Research. His research interests primarily focus on behavioural finance, financial technology, entrepreneurship, and technology-enabled innovation.
Dr Mutya holds a First-Class Honours Bachelor of Business Administration (Accounting) from Uganda Christian University, a Master of Business Administration (Finance) from Uganda Martyrs University, and a PhD in Management Studies (Finance) from SRM Institute of Science and Technology, India. His academic and professional contributions continue to advance scholarship, teaching excellence, and institutional development within higher education.
