My name is Ssali Jonathan, a student at Uganda Technology And Management University (UTAMU). I am in the School of Computing and Engineering studying for a Bachelor of Science and Software Engineering in my 4th year and final year of study.
I am driven to tell my story because I want every reader looking to join a university to share in the goodness I have reaped at UTAMU. I was inspired to join UTAMU in 2018 when a relative told me about the exceptional education service at this great university. He insisted that UTAMU had very good and life changing study programmes like software engineering, computer engineering, computer security and forensics, information systems and many others. I had always loved to do an IT course and at this point for me….. All roads led to UTAMU!
Just like my relative, I have indeed enjoyed my stay at UTAMU. I have learnt a lot because when I joined I had no knowledge about computers and how they work but because it is a university that advances tech interests, I had to learn how to use a computer. This began my journey of computer knowledge which is a basic need today and must be known by everyone…. Imagine today not knowing how to use a computer when every work you do requires computer knowledge???
As a student, I have enjoyed the free internet at UTAMU. Free internet has facilitated and speeded up my learning process independently as well because to succeed in life, you must utilize available resources to better your studies especially in the fields of technology and science.
UTAMU has redefined and refined my future plans because of a teaching technique that is thorough and practical in nature. I continue to learn a lot from my lecturers that today I am proud to own a YouTube channel that has educative programmes in Computer Science and Software Engineering. I attribute this to the teaching experience that emphasizes practical application.
As a software Engineering student, I intend to use my creative-thinking and innovative mind to solve problems in various sectors of health, education among others with specific interest in the application of software engineering.
I will always remember UTAMU for the fact that the university has given me an opportunity to learn about science and technology beyond the classroom and this is evidenced by my YouTube channel “Ssali Jonathan”.
I advise every potential student to join a practical university and in this case UTAMU because it has equipped me with skills that are significantly aiding my progress today. The world is practical and you must be practical to make it…..this is what UTAMU offers!
