Bachelor of Procurement and Supply Chain Management has been blended with technology and management and graduates of this programme will be able to get exemptions once they enrol for professional courses in procurement and supplies like the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (UK).

Programme Objectives
Over the past decades, sound public procurement management has become a key milestone of good governance and national progress. Its significance for social and economic development is reflected in the fact that it constitutes a sizeable proportion of the national economy (15 to 30 per cent of national GDP). Procurement is, therefore, one of today's fastest growing management disciplines, in terms of both managerial activity and strategic importance. Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Purchasing, and Supply Management are promising sectors with ambitious and well-educated experts and managers at the fore. Their task is to set up the value chain of today optimally. The management thereof includes making decisions about make-or-buy production, supplier selection and evaluation, planning and controlling of goods and information flows in procurement, distribution and disposal, as well as controlling and risk management.
In recognition of the developments and aware of the needs of Uganda as articulated in Vision 2040, the Degree in Procurement and Supply chain Management will suit the public, private and NGO procurement officers/assistants and those aspiring to join the procurement profession at any level-central, local and parastatal level. Other employees and officers in government, public sector industries, local government agencies and government aides institutions engaged in various levels of procurement as user departments stores, finance, projects, corporate planning and other allied activities of a public/private sector organization will find the programme of significant relevance.
This programme will also be useful for fresh graduates at Diploma level who want to make a career in procurement and for employees and executives of private sector and NGO sector who engage in direct or indirect supply of goods, services and works to government agencies. The programme is equally appropriate for all people with experience in other aspects of business that wish to acquire a closer understanding of the procurement discipline.
Admission Requirements
Students will be admitted to the Bachelor of Procurement and Supply chain management through three avenues: Direct Entry, Mature Entry and Diploma Entry.
Direct Entry Scheme
Candidates seeking admission through the direct entry shall require the following:
- At least two principal passes at same sitting in Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE)
- At least five passes at the same seating in Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE)
Diploma Holders Scheme
- Applicants should possess at least a lower division in Science, Business Administration, IT, Statistics, Economics or related field.
- At least one principal pass and two subsidiary passes at same sitting in Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE).
- At least five passes at the same seating in Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE).
Mature Age Entry Scheme
For admission under mature age, a candidate must have sat and passed the university mature age entry examinations from a recognized centre. To sit for university mature age, the candidate must have age of at least 25 years.
Program Duration
The program will extend over a period of three academic years. An academic year shall consist of two semesters and one recess term. A semester shall consist of 15 weeks of lectures. A recess term shall consist of 10 weeks.
