The Bachelor’s in Human Resource Management program is intended to prepare 21st century graduates with exceptional, knowledge, skills and competencies in human resource management. The graduates will be equipped with the ability to identify, analyze, and solve complex human resource and management issues for changing organizations. It is designed within the context of the National Development plan of Uganda (launched in April 2010) and Vision 2040 Launched in 2013.
This course shall take an interdisciplinary approach to prepare students for positions in human resource department leadership, to establish and advance organizational policies and guidelines, to utilize the tools and techniques for developing transformational work environments.

Programme Objectives
This programme aims to provide the instruments for appropriate management of human capital that can meet the requirements of the current market and, at the same time, enhance the managed resources. This degree offers the opportunity to acquire in-depth comprehension of the most important factors that influence the behavior of people in organizations in order to create new generations of well-rounded and skillful professionals, especially in the field of individual and group motivation management, evaluation and development of human resources, remuneration policies management, incentive systems management, participatory tools management, and business cooperation and communication, for both the public and private sector.

By end of the programme, students will be able to: -
- Identify the trends affecting Human Resource Management.
- Analyze human resource activities.
- Outline how the strategic human resource planning process is utilized to meet employee and company goals.
- Justify to enable performance management.
- Write a job description and the job specifications for it based on a job analysis.
- Describe monetary and non-monetary compensation plans.
- Justify the need for training and development.
- Summarize basic previsions of legislation affecting Human Resource Management.
- Research a selected topic in Human Resource Management.
Admission Requirements
Students will be admitted to the Bachelor of Human Resource management through three avenues: Direct Entry, Mature Entry and Diploma Entry.
Direct Entry Scheme
Candidates seeking admission through the direct entry shall require the following:
- At least two principal passes at same sitting in Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE)
- At least five passes at the same seating in Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE)
Diploma Holders Scheme
- Applicants should possess at least a lower division in related fields
- At least one principal pass and two subsidiary passes at same sitting in Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE)
- At least five passes at the same seating in Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE)
Mature Age Entry Scheme
For admission under mature age, a candidate must have sat and passed the university mature age entry examinations from a recognized centre. To sit for university mature age, the candidate must have age of at least 25 years.
Program Duration
The program will extend over a period of three academic years. An academic year shall consist of two semesters and one recess term. A semester shall consist of 15 weeks of lectures. A recess term shall consist of 10 weeks.
