The Graduates of the program can be employed as:

1. Systems Administrators
2. Network Administrators
3. Applications Developers
4. Web administrators/developers

The graduates can also exploit their entrepreneurial skills to develop ICT solutions (hardware/software) that can be used in the day today running of the organizations.

Programme Objectives

The objectives of the program are to produce graduates with:-

1. Technical skills to set up and manage networked infrastructures
2. Skills to manage Software Systems as well as other computational resources in organizations
3. Skills to maintain and troubleshoot hardware and software
4. Skills to develop and maintain organization websites
5. Prospective Careers

Learning Outcomes

Candidates will be admitted on Direct Scheme or Certificate Entry Scheme.

Direct Entry Scheme

To qualify for direct entry, the candidate must have at least one principal pass and two subsidiary passes attained at the same sitting of Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE) – or its equivalent. The Candidate must as well have at least 5 passes in the same sitting of Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) or its equivalent.

Certificate Entry Scheme 

The candidate must have at least three passes obtained at the same sitting of Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) or its equivalent. At least a Second Class Lower / Credit Certificate (equivalent to Uganda Advanced certificate of Education) in any course from a recognized institution.

Admission Requirements

Direct Entry

• At least one principal pass and two subsidiary passes in UACE or its equivalent
• At least 5 passes in UCE or its equivalent

Certificate Entry

1. At least a Credit Certificate from a recognized institution (Equivalent to UACE)
2. At least 3 passes in UCE or its equivalent

Program Duration

The program will extend over a period of two academic years. An academic year shall consist of two semesters and one recess term. A semester shall consist of 15 weeks of lectures. A recess term shall consist of 10 weeks.
