The Business School invites applications from suitably qualified and motivated individuals for the position of Lecturer in the Department of Business Administration, Accounting and Finance.
Job Purpose
To teach, conduct research, and provide academic leadership in the areas of accounting and finance while contributing to the development of students and the growth of the Business School.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Deliver lectures and facilitate learning in accounting, finance, and related business courses at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
- Develop course outlines, teaching materials, and assessment tools in line with university standards.
- Conduct research and publish in reputable academic journals.
- Supervise undergraduate and postgraduate students’ research projects and dissertations.
- Participate in curriculum development and review.
- Engage in community outreach, and professional engagement.
- Participate in departmental meetings, committees, and other administrative responsibilities.
- Contribute to the academic development and mentorship of students.
Minimum Qualifications and Experience
- A Master’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, MBA (accounting and finance), or a related field from a recognized university
- A Bachelor’s degree in Finance and Accounting or BBA (accounting and finance)
- Evidence of teaching or training experience at university level or a tertiary institution will be an added advantage.
- Ability to utilize e-learning platforms and digital teaching technologies.
- Evidence of research output, including publications in peer reviewed journals is an added advantage.
- Possessing a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) qualification is an added advantage
