Position: Lecturer – Economics
Department: Economics and Management
Duty Station: Kungu Campus (Gombe Division, Nansana Municipal Council)
Reports to: Head of Department
Job Purpose
To deliver high-quality teaching, research, and academic service in Economics, contributing to the University’s mission of academic excellence, innovation, and community engagement.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality lectures in Economics at undergraduate and postgraduate levels
- Develop, review, and update course content in line with University and NCHE standards
- Conduct research and publish in reputable academic journals
- Supervise undergraduate and postgraduate research projects and dissertations
- Participate in curriculum development and academic planning
- Engage in community outreach and professional engagement activities
- Contribute to departmental and University administrative duties
- Utilize e-learning platforms and digital tools to support teaching and learning
Minimum Requirements and Qualifications
- A Master’s degree in Economics, Development Economics, or a closely related field (PhD is an added advantage)
- A Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Quantitative Economics, Applied Economics, or related field
- Evidence of research and publications in recognized academic journals
- At least two (2) years’ teaching experience at a recognized institution of higher learning
- Demonstrated ability to use e-learning platforms and digital teaching tools
- Professional qualifications in Economics or related disciplines will be an added advantage
