Programme Objectives
This programme is designed to provide the knowledge and skills needed to become an effective financial leader and manager in any reputable organization. It embraces students from all backgrounds but with some working experience. The main goal of the program is to equip students with knowledge and competencies and transform them into effective financial leaders and managers of reputable organizations.
The objectives of the program are to:
- Equip the students with analytical, critical thinking and other key financial managerial skills.
- Enable students develop analytical financial tools for decision making in technically competitive corporate world.
- Train financial leaders and managers who can ably apply technology/ICT in financial management and operations of organizations.
- Equip students with the theoretical and practical knowledge in financial problem solving, financial policy formulation and implementation and in financial management of organizations.
Learning Outcomes
To develop knowledge and skills to:
- Be able to appreciate present financial information.
- Develop an understanding of Financial Management decisions.
- Manage and assist the management in financial related works.
- Plan and manage auditing activities; and
- Develop and analyze the budget of an organization.
Admission Requirements
The admission requirements comprise any of the following:
- A Bachelor’s degree in any field or its equivalent from a recognized institution;
OR
- A professional qualification equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree from a recognized professional body.
Program Duration
The program will extend over a period of one academic year. An academic year shall consist of two semesters and one recess term. A semester shall consist of 15 weeks of lectures. A recess term shall consist of 10 weeks.
