Postgraduate Diploma in Public Policy

Programme Objectives

The programme has the objective to enhance students’ theoretical, conceptual and practical understanding of:

  • Understand aspects of policy design in government.
  • Discuss the different dynamics of public policy management in a changing environment.
  • Demonstrate knowledge in policy design, policy implementation and policy impact.
Learning Outcomes

By the end of the programme, participants will be able to:

  • Identify issues ripe for policy action.
  • Discuss ways of developing policy proposals and set the agenda for policy making.
  • Understand various ways of designing and implementing policies.
  • Conduct a monitoring and evaluation exercise of a public policy in any sector.
Admission Requirements

The admission requirement comprises any of the following:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in any field or its equivalent from a recognized institution;

OR

  • A professional qualification equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree from a recognized professional body.
Program Duration

The program will extend over a period of one academic year. An academic year shall consist of two semesters and one recess term. A semester shall consist of 15 weeks of lectures. A recess term shall consist of 10 weeks.
