Mary Komunte is a Lecturer and acting Head of Department, Information Systems & Technology in the School of Computing & Engineering at Uganda Technology And Management University (UTAMU).
Motivated by challenges, focused, adjust easily to different work situations; work diligently as an individual and as a team member. I have a result-oriented personality, enthusiastic and outgoing and have the requisite inter-personal relations.
Ms. Mary Komunte is Undertaking PhD studies in Informatics Technology and she holds a Master of Information Technology, a Postgraduate Diploma in Computer Science and a Bachelor of Arts in Education (Economics, REG) of Makerere University. She is the Head of Department of Information Systems and Technology as well as a lecturer in the Department of Information Systems and Technology Department, School of Computing and Engineering of Uganda Technology and Management University.
She is an experienced Computer Systems Analyst, having worked on a number of projects over the years and helped university students to develop their innovative ideas into fully functioning systems. She has accumulated enough experience in the pedagogy service delivery and has participated in the development of information systems and technology curricula. Mary is a reviewer of grant scheme for African Prize and EJISSDC (the Electronic Journal of Information Systems in Developing Countries). Mary has undertaken ICT4D research and developed qualitative models and she is developing a Mobile Decision Enhancement tool to help start up women entrepreneurs to start and grow their enterprises successfully as evidenced in the publications.
