Prof. Johnson Wagona Makoba, PhD

Johnson W. Makoba is a professor of sociology and recipient of the 2016 and 2019 Carnegie African Diaspora Fellowship. He is editor-in-chief of the International Journal of Technology and Management. Makoba received his Ph.D. from the University of California, Berkeley in 1990. He has been teaching at the University of Nevada, Reno since then.

Makoba is the author of two books on development in Sub-Saharan Africa and has published several book chapters and articles in the International Journal of Sociology of Law, Scandinavian Journal of Development Alternatives, Austrian Journal of Development Studies, Journal of Third World Studies, African Development, and other scholarly journals.
