Uganda Technology and Management University (UTAMU) community is in mourning following the tragic loss of Odele Boris, a dedicated and promising student pursuing a Bachelor of Information Systems and Technology (BIST) in the School of Technology, Computing and Engineering. Odele’s untimely passing has left the student fraternity, faculty, and his loved ones in profound grief.
Odele, known for his vibrant personality, academic dedication, and passion for technology, was a beloved member of the UTAMU community. His peers and lecturers remember him as a bright and ambitious individual who consistently demonstrated a commitment to excellence in his studies and a willingness to support his fellow students.
The news of his passing has sent shockwaves across the university, with many expressing their condolences and sharing fond memories of Odele.
Dr. Ayoo Phillip, Dean of the School of Technology, Computing and Engineering, expressed his deep sorrow, stating, “Odele was a remarkable student with a bright future ahead of him. His loss is not only a tragedy for his family but also for the entire UTAMU community. We will honor his memory by continuing to uphold the values of excellence that he embodied.”
Details regarding funeral arrangements are as follows: Vigil will be held at the deceased’s home at Daniel Road in Kiryamuli, Namugongo and prayers tomorrow (18/03/2025) and Burial is on Wednesday in Amusiat 4kms on Pallisa – Mbale Road.
His legacy will live on in the hearts of those who knew him and in the halls of the institution he called home.
