Job Title: Lecturer (2 Positions)

Job Purpose
To deliver high-quality teaching, support research and innovation, and contribute to academic and administrative functions within the School of Technology, Computing & Engineering, particularly in the areas of Computing, Engineering, IT, and Information Systems.
Key Responsibilities
1. Teaching & Learning
- Deliver lectures, tutorials, and laboratory/practical sessions in assigned courses
- Develop and review course content in areas such as:
- Computer Science
- Software Engineering
- Information Technology
- Information Systems
- Computer Engineering
- Conduct student assessments (coursework, exams, projects)
- Supervise undergraduate student projects, internships, and industrial training/Community engagement
2. Research & Innovation
- Conduct research in computing and technology-related fields
- Publish in peer-reviewed journals and conferences
- Participate in research grants and collaborative projects
- Promote innovation and practical application of technology
3. Academic Administration
- Participate in curriculum development and programme review
- Attend departmental and school meetings
- Contribute to quality assurance, accreditation, and academic standards
- Provide academic guidance and mentorship to students
4. Community & Industry Engagement
- Participate in community outreach, workshops, and seminars
- Foster partnerships with industry to enhance practical learning and employability
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (BSc) in:
- Computer Science
- Information Technology
- Software Engineering
- Information Systems
- Computer Engineering or related field
- Master’s degree (MSc) in a relevant computing or technology discipline (required)
Experience & Skills
- Teaching experience at a university or tertiary institution (preferred)
- Strong expertise in at least one of the following:
- Programming and Software Development
- Networking and Systems Administration
- Database Systems and Data Analytics
- Cybersecurity and Digital Forensics
- Proficiency in e-learning platforms (e.g., Moodle or similar)
- Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated research potential

Reporting Line
Reports to the Head of Department and Dean, School of Technology, Computing & Engineering
Employment Terms
Full-time position in accordance with university policies and procedures, and to be based at the main campus in Kungu, Matugga, Nansana, Wakiso.
