This programme intends to provide theoretical and hands on skills in computing to support learners’ initial careers.
Career Prospects
It aims at training high quality professionals in Systems Administration, Software Development, System Analysis and Design, Web Design and Management and Hardware Maintenance. Graduates of this programme will have an in depth understanding of ICT and work very well in purely ICT settings as well as apply advanced computing skills like programming, simulation and modeling in different professional disciplines.
Programme Objectives
The objectives of the program are:
- To equip students who are already graduates of other disciplines with skills that will enable them apply ICT fully in their organizations.
- To equip students who would like to change professions to ICT with skills that will enable them be high quality professionals in Systems Administration, Software Development, System Analysis and Design, Web Design and Management and Hardware Maintenance.
Learning Outcomes
By the end of the program, the graduate shall be able to:
- Apply advanced computing skills (like programming, simulation, modeling) in other academic and professional disciplines
- Administer computer systems and networks
- Develop software to suit business needs (both desktop and mobile software)
- Analyze and design computer systems
- Develop and manage high quality websites
Admission Requirements
To be admitted on the programme, the candidate shall be required to have acquired a Bachelor’s Degree or its equivalent in any discipline from a recognized Institution.
Program Duration
The program will extend over a period of one academic year. An academic year shall consist of two semesters and one recess term. A semester shall consist of 15 weeks of lectures. A recess term shall consist of 10 weeks.
